Pasta with White Clam Sauce

A super simple pantry staple meal that is done in the time it takes to boil your pasta.
This clam sauce is so easy that you will feel guilty when your family raves!  It is very basic and I have modified it just enough so that the ingredient list is short.
This dish is a winner every time for our family.  It is light, but satisfying and all you need to complete the meal is a simple salad.  This is one of my husband's all time favorites.  And I do feel a little guilty that it takes so little effort (yes - I know that is a problem!).

1 lb Pasta (Linguine, Spaghetti, Angel Hair - your choice!)
2 (6.5 oz) cans Chopped Clams
1/4 cup Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp dried Parsley
1/4 tsp dried Basil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Prepare your pasta (I used Barilla Gluten Free Spaghetti) according to the package instructions.
While it is boiling, pour the olive oil into a large pan and heat on a medium/low setting.

Using a sieve over a bowl, drain the clams and reserve the juice.
Set aside.

Once the oil is warm, add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Pour in the reserved clam juice...

... parsley and basil.  Feel free to use fresh - I'm just trying to keep it simple (and real!).

Cook the sauce on low for 5 minutes and then add the clams to warm through.

Stir in the pasta.

And you are ready to serve!
Serves 4-6.
